Government has allowed stepping with junior only to those ranks where direct recruitment is available. Whereas it has been observed that who has been promoted after 01.01.2006, they are drawing higher pay than their senior who has been promoted prior to 01.01.2006. Govt/ Anomalies Committee on 6th CPC should also lookinto this aspect and similar benefit of stepping be extended to all ranks whether direct recruitment is available in the respective rank or otherwise.
